Use the Pipe Flaring Tool Kit (J 45405), from the J 45405 set, when replacing the brake pipe and be careful about safety related to brake fluid and always use double-walled steel pipes. Start the procedure by checking the brake pipe you want to replace and then taking it out of the retainers. Measure the pipe you have to replace with all the bends, and remember to add 6.35 mm (0.250 Cut the brake pipe in line with your measurements by using the sharp pipe cutter from the J 45405 kit. Pick out the proper brake pipe and tube nuts, take off the nylon cover from the ends using the tool in J 45405, and notch the edges of the pipe with the de-burring tool from the J 45405 kit. Add the tube nuts to the brake pipe, make sure both the pipe and the J 45405 (J 45405) are clean, and organize the dies for flaring. Make sure the die clamping screw is very tight and pick the right forming mandrel to use with the forming ram. Grab the lever of the J Bend the new pipe with the right brake pipe bending tool if required, and don't allow it to get within 19 mm (3/4 in) of any moving components before installing it with brake pipe unions. Once done, fit the brake pipe into place on the retainers, bleed the brakes, and with the brakes applied, look for any flare leaks.
