You must rotate the parking brake adjusting nut until all park brake shoe adjustment is gone and afterward remove the Parking Brake Shoe retaining spring. One should grip the shoe assembly from its center before gently spreading it to draw it out from the actuator assembly. To install the park brake shoe you should grasp it and gently open it before sliding it over the actuator assembly while applying pull force. Next install the Parking Brake Shoe retaining spring. The first step should be to adjust Parking Brake Shoe-to-drum clearance which is then followed by wheel bearing/hub installation and lastly brake rotor placement.
