How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2006 Chevrolet Corvette?

Start replacing the rear compartment lid latch by opening the rear compartment and taking out the rear center carpet panel. Tag the latch position before disconnecting the electrical wiring connection for simple reinstallation later. Unscrew both bolts that link the latch to the latch bracket and withdraw the latch part. Fit the latch to its bracket with the installed bolts then tighten them to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Continue the manual release cable to the rear center storage area and connect the electrical cables before replacing the carpet panel.
