  A: Open and support the liftgate before starting removal of its trim panel. Stencil the liftgate hinge points with a pencil before you disconnect the liftgate struts. One by one remove the bolts from the hinge and bodyECTOR TO LIFTGATE along with the nuts from HINGE TO BODY. After adjustment place new hinge to body nuts first and position the hinge to the marks you created previously when removing it. Place the hinge onto the marks on the liftgate then bolt it in place followed by reinstallation of the liftgate struts. Check the alignment when lowering the liftgate and make needed changes. Tighten both the liftgate hinge nuts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft) while also torqueing the hinge bolts to body to this specification. Afterward you need to place the liftgate trim panel back into place.
