How to replace the front Door Latch Assembly on 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?

The first step to replace the front door latch requires removal of the front door Window Regulator module. First separate the outside handle rod from the latch before taking out the outside handle bracket. Few steps follow each other throughout the replacement of the lock cylinder rod and the latch electrical connector. You can detach the Window Regulator-mounted latch arm through touching the tab and moving it toward the rear. You must twist the latch to disconnect the inside handle rod with the lock button rod before taking the latch off the latch arm. The first step of installation involves installing the latch to the latch arm through twisting motion. Tilt the latch so inside handle rods and lock button rods can match their clips before twisting it to connect. Reinstall the latch arm to the Window Regulator module following this process: depress the tab then slide it toward the rear position while connecting both the latch electrical connector and the lock cylinder rod to their respective places. As the last step place the outside handle bracket while connecting the outside handle rod to the latch before installing the front door Window Regulator module.
