How to replace the rear Door Latch Assembly on 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?

A replacement of the rear door latch starts with removing the rear door Window Regulator module. Pressurize the ellipse to disengage the vertical rod from the latch after which you remove the handle retaining bracket. The first step to replace the latch involves disconnecting the electrical connector and arm from the regulator module through tab depression and rearward sliding. You will detach the inside handle rod and lock button rod through a twisting motion on the latch before taking out the latch from the latch arm through additional twisting. To install begin with attaching the latch to the latch arm through a twisting motion. Connect the inside handle rod and lock button rod by placing the rods inside the clips followed by twisting the latch. To install the latch arm in the Window Regulator module you should depress the tab while sliding it toward the back and attach its electrical connector. The next step involves attachment of the outside handle bracket followed by rod connection between the latch and outside handle completion of installation through the rear door Window Regulator module.
