How to replace the liftgate emblem/nameplate on 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?

Before installing the liftgate emblem/nameplate on the Equinox you should tape the mounting surface to protect it and make alignment marks. Heat the emblem/nameplate with the heat gun in rotating motions during 30 seconds at 152 mm (6 in) distance. Push flat plastic tool underneath the emblem/nameplate while heating with a gun to unlock it from the panel. To clean the area properly use a 3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk P/N 07501 on body panels or a lint-free cloth with VMP naphtha or a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mix on plastic panels. Wipe the ready zone using the previous solvent and let it completely dry. Apply tape to show the placement area when the original mark is missing. Set the EQUINOX emblem/nameplate 11 mm (0.043 in) from the liftgate left edge and 160 mm (6.30 in) below its bottom edge. Position the CHEVROLET emblem/nameplate on the right edge 31 mm (1.22 inches) from the edge at 160 mm (6.30 inches) from the bottom. Heating the target area to 27-41°C (80-105°F) and keeping the emblem/nameplate at 29-32°C (85-90°F) while avoiding contact with the adhesive backing is needed sometimes. Press the emblem/nameplate directly onto its designated position by matching the marks on the surface and pressing until the adhesive makes a firm bond across the entire surface. Take off the protective tape from the surface area where the emblem/nameplate will be mounted.
