How to replace the emblem/nameplate on the liftgate on 2005 Chevrolet Equinox?

Before installing the new liftgate emblem/nameplate you need to protect the surface it will go on with tape and make alignment marks. Warm the emblem/nameplate for 30 seconds with a heat gun while moving the gun in a circle at 152 mm (6 inches) distance from the surface. Use plain plastic and flat-tipped tools to gently take off the emblem/nameplate from the panel surface. Apply 3M(TM) P/N 07501 adhesive scotch brite disk for body panels or a lint-free cloth with VMP naphtha and water mixture or isopropyl alcohol solution to clean plastic panels. Dry the cleaned installation space with the same solution. Place tape on the surface to show the emblem/nameplate installation spot when no surface marker exists. Place the EQUINOX nameplate 0.043 (11 mm) beyond the liftgate left edge and 6.3 (160 mm) down from the center line. Align the CHEVROLET nameplate at the right edge 1.22 inches away and place it 6.30 inches below the middle vertical line. Apply gentle heat to the installation area until it reaches 27-41°C (80-105°F) and verify your nameplate's surface at 29-32°C (85-90°F). Do not touch its adhesive strip during this process. Place the emblem/nameplate over the marks then stick it correctly onto the surface by using firm pressure without pushing against one side. Take off the protective tape from the surface where you placed the emblem.
