    Q:
How to replace the grille emblem on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
First, you need to heat the loose emblem with the J 25070 Heat Gun (J 25070) from 152 mm (6 in) while rotating heat on the emblem surface until it separates from the grille. Take caution when removing the wreath or crest emblem from the grille while preserving the painted surface. The first step is using a plastic flat-bladed tool to remove old emblem adhesive then wipe the area clean by applying 3M(R) P/N 07501 (07501) or an equivalent adhesive remover. Warm water mixed with soap will clean the area as you dry it with a non-fibered material. To prepare for application wipe the designated area with a clean lint-free cloth using equal parts isopropyl alcohol and water mixture. Use hands-only when handling the adhesive tape and prevent it from encountering any dirt. Apply 30 seconds of firm pressure to secure the emblem through its adhesive tape after you have positioned its pins (1, 2) correctly against the grille holes.

    Q:
How to replace the rear compartment lid emblem and nameplate on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before attaching the rear compartment lid parts put tape on the surface for protection and use tape to line up during the process. Heat the emblem/nameplate through the J 25070 (J 25070) movements for 30 seconds while keeping it 152 mm (6 inches) away from the surface. Use a plastic tool made of hard plastic to slowly pulls the emblem/nameplate through its adhesive layers from the panel surface. Heat the emblem/nameplate to temperatures between 85 and 90 F degrees (29 to 32 C degrees) and stay away from handling the adhesive side during the process. Place the emblem/nameplate on its mounting surface after removing protective backing and applying heat from J 25070 to approximately 27-41 C (80-105 F). Put the V8 Northstar emblem on the driver side at 67mm (2.6in) left and 86mm (3.4in) bottom from the rear compartment lid. Attach the XLR emblem to the passenger side at 60mm (2.4in) from the right edge while keeping it 86mm (3.4in) below the bottom edge of the lid. Press evenly over the emblem/nameplate to correctly attach it to the surface before removing the backing tape.

    Q:
How to replace the rear compartment lid emblem/nameplate on a V8 on Cadillac XLR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing the V8 rear compartment lid emblem/nameplate you must tape the mounting surface and take alignment marks for easy installation. Use J 25070 heat gun to heat the emblem/nameplate in circular motions for 30 seconds at a 152 mm (6 in) distance from the surface. Quintessential flat blade made of plastic to pry off the emblem/nameplate from its panel surface. Set up the emblem/nameplate installation site between 85 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid handling the adhesive side of the nameplate. First remove the protective film at the back of the emblem/nameplate then apply J 25070 heat gun at 27-41°C (80-105°F) to warm up the installation area. Place the V8 Northstar emblem to the left side of the driver area at 67 mm (2.6 in) from the edge and 86 mm (3.4 in) from the bottom of the rear compartment lid. Position the XLR emblem on the passenger side 2.4 inches from the right edge and 3.4 inches from the bottom of the rear compartment lid. Push down evenly on all parts of the emblem to evenly attach it to the mounting point before lifting off the covering tape.

    Q:
How to replace the liftgate emblem and nameplate on Cadillac SRX? Posted by Customer
    A:
For this replacement job you need the Heat Gun model J 25070 and other tools. You need to cover and position the nameplate region with tape before starting. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the Heat Gun (J 25070) by moving it in circles for 30 seconds when kept 6 inches away from the surface. Use a tiny plastic tool to pull off the emblem/nameplate since it avoids paint damage. Use a 3M Scot Brite Molding Adhesive Remover Disk (Part Number 07502) to remove body panel residues while cleaning plastic panels requires a lint-free cloth with 3M VMP naphtha or a mixture of 50% isopropyl alcohol and water. Use the installation space for the back panel while preparing a clean and dry area. If no marking present use tape and measure 5.12 inches (130 mm) below the panel top and 3.12 inches (80 mm) from each panel side with an added 0.5 inches (12 mm) extension from bottom edge of SRX mark for export models. Use the Heat Gun (J 25070) to make the mounting surface reach 27-41°C (80-105°F) and adjust the temperature when needed. Maintain the emblem/nameplate to around 29-32°C (85-90°F). Push away the protection film before placing the emblem/nameplate at its marks. Press it strongly to the surface without letting the adhesive stick to your fingers. Push the emblem gently while checking the entire surface for correct attachment and wiping away loose tape before removing it from the mounting area.
