2007 Chevrolet Colorado Emblem Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the endgate emblem/nameplate on 2007 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: You need two tools to install the endgate emblem on your Canyon: Heat Gun (J 25070) and 3M(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Place tape first on the tailgate emblem as a shield and position guide. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the Heat Gun (J 25070) at 152 mm (6 in) distance while moving it in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Use a plastic tool to detach the emblem/nameplate while you apply the adhesive remover to both surfaces of the tailgate panel and the back of the emblem/nameplate. Wipe the tailgate with naphtha and varnish makers and painters materials. Start by marking the area if no drawings exist on the tailgate. To install the emblem/nameplate correctly position it 59.5 mm (2.34 in) from the tailgate edge, 12.1 mm (0.48 in) from bottom, 5.1 mm (0.2 in) from bottom and 59.4 mm (2.34 in) from edge. Heat the tailgate with the Heat Gun (J 25070) until the surface reaches 21°C (70°F) but stay away from the emblem/nameplate's backing film. Press the front end of the emblem/nameplate onto the tailgate after having removed the backing from it. Press the emblem/nameplate carefully over the surface to fix it properly then check for adherence before removing the tape from the surrounding area.
