How to replace the front side door emblem/nameplate on 2008 GMC Canyon?

You need specific tools to replace the Canyon front side door emblem/nameplate including The work requires both Heat Gun (J 25070) and 3M(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Heat Gun (J 25070) and 3M(TM) scotch brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07501). Protect your door emblem with tape while positioning for alignment before you start. Heat the emblem/nameplate using the Heat Gun (J 25070) over a 152 mm (6 in) radius for 30 seconds to allow for circular movement. A plastic flat-blade tool should be used to remove the emblem/nameplate before finishing the removal with a mold release solvent to clean both sides. Varnish makers and painters (VMP) naphtha is used for cleaning the door surface. Use tape to identify an unmarked emblem/nameplate location then measure 251 mm (9.88 in) from the bottom edge of the door and 157 mm (6.18 in) from the front of the door to create correct placement. Begin heating the door surface with the Heat Gun (J 25070) until it reaches at least 21°C (70°F) but avoid letting the heated area touch the emblem's backing adhesive. Inside the door panel locate the front section of the emblem/nameplate and smooth it there while you remove the remaining backing from the rear end. Hand roll the emblem/nameplate while checking adhesion before removing tape from the space surrounding the door emblem.
