How to replace the front fender emblem and nameplate on 2007 Cadillac XLR?

To replace the front fender emblem and nameplate, first, tape the surface of the mounting, use tape marks on installation. Heat the emblem/nameplate with a J 25070 Heat Gun (J 25070) using a circular pattern around the emblem/nameplate for approximately 30 seconds and hold the heat gun at about 1 ft. 5.25 in. (152 mm) away from the surface. This nameplate/emblem has to be delicately removed from the panel surface using a plastic, flat-bladed tool. Before installation, clean up the site using a lint-free cloth and Varnish Makers and Painters (VMP) naphtha or a 50/50 solution of isopropyl alcohol and water, and dry it completely. In case the location is not marked, use the specified dimensions with the help of tape. for XLR emblem/nameplate on it which have to be placed 108 mm (4.25 in) from the trailing edge of the fender 305 mm (12 in) from the bottom edge of the fender) In case necessary, heat the mounting surface to about 27-41°C (80-105°F) with the J 25070 applying heat to the emblem/nameplate to about 29-32°C (85-90°F). Do not touch the adhesive backing, remove the liner included to the back of the emblem/nameplate. Place it relative to the marks and press it down onto the mounting surface with equal pressure to have a uniform bond. Finally, strip away the protective tape from the mounting surface.
