How to replace an emblem or nameplate on 2010 Cadillac STS?

A proper replacement starts by covering the mounting area with tape then setting up installation marks. Heat the emblem/nameplate with a J 25070 (Heat Gun) in rotating movements for 30 seconds kept 152 mm (6 in) away. Use a plastic flat scraper tool to remove the emblem/nameplate from its panel location. For body panels use 3M Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk 3M(TM) P/N 07501 while plastic panels require a lint-free cloth with VMP naphtha or 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mix. Wipe the installation spot with the same solvent before letting it completely dry. When there are no clear location marks on the emblem/nameplate, tape will help identify its position. Use the J 25070 (Heat Gun) to warm the surface to 80-105 degrees Fahrenheit while making sure the emblem/nameplate stays at 85-90 degrees Fahrenheit. Carefully clean the backing before pulling off the protective liner from the emblem/nameplate. Place the surface sticker onto the marked point and push it tight while maintaining balanced force throughout the attachment area. Take off the protective tape from the mounting surface at last.
