How to replace the exhaust heat shield on 2006 Chevrolet HHR?

Starting the replacement of the Exhaust Heat Shield requires removal of the Muffler. Start by removing 4 heat shield rivets and the heat shield nut through drilling and then remove the heat shield. Position the Exhaust Heat Shield to the underbody before installing the heat shield nut followed by tightening it to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). You must put in 4 brand new heat shield rivets before placing the Muffler back in position.
