How to replace the rear outside door handle on 2006 Chevrolet Impala?

Start the replacement by removing the rear door trim panel together with the rear door water deflector then raise the window completely up. Masking tape should be applied around the outside handle to prevent paint damage. First open the outside handle rod to reach the lock clip on the Door Lock before taking out the rear Door Lock. Begin by taking off the exterior access tape to the Door Handle bolt and extract the three bolts from the rear Door Handle before passing the outside handle bolt through the latch hole. Insert the outside handle rod and the rod back into the door. When installing the system return the outside Door Handle and the rod to their positions before inserting the outside handle bolt through the latch hole while tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Fasten the three bolts at the rear Door Handle while tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in) before reattaching the rear Door Lock. To finish the installation put the outside Door Handle bolt access tape on then insert the outside handle rod into the clip which needs to be closed by the clip cover. The technician checks the outside door operation while removing tape before reinstalling both the door deflector and trim panel.
