How to replace the rear side outer door handle on 2007 Chevrolet Impala?

The outside handle for the rear side door requires a starting point which includes removing the rear door trim panel and the rear door water deflector followed by raising the window to its full height. Masking tape must be applied around the exterior handle to protect the paint surface. You must first open the lock clip connected to the Door Lock by the outside handle rod to remove the rear Door Lock. Next you must take out the outside Door Handle bolt access tape and the three bolts from the recesses in the rear Door Handle. After this put the outside handle bolt through the latch hole. Remove the outside handle along with the rod from your door. Begin the installation process by placing the door outside handle followed by the rod before inserting the outside handle bolt into the latch hole with sufficient tension of 10 n.m (89 lb in). Mount the three bolts properly onto the rear Door Handle while tightening each one to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Subsequently install the rear Door Lock then the bolts for the outside Door Handle and its mounting tape. A user should slide the outside handle rod through the clip before securing the clip cover over the rod. The examination of the outside door should include checking its operation followed by tape removal then re-installation of water deflector and trim panel on the rear door.
