Check for jacket assembly collapse by measuring the lower edge distance of upper to lower jacket points while replacing the whole assembly if measurements exceed specified standards. A visual check of the Steering Shaft should evaluate whether sheared injected plastic exists. The shaft requires replacement if any sheared plastic is detected. A dial indicator to check runout measurement on the lower end of the Steering Shaft during wheel rotation at maximum specification of 1.60 mm (0.06 inch) needs to be performed to inspect Steering Shaft alignment following any frame damage that might result in shaft bending.
