  A: Your Hood Cable replacement work requires you to begin with the left front door sill panel removal followed by taking apart the left closeout/insulator panel and upper grille applique. Start by removing the engine splash shield then follow by taking off the Hood Latch. Before installation of the cable freeware attach mechanics wire to the Hood Latch assembly release cable's exterior end by releasing the cable from its position. Keep a mental note of the cable's path through the components. Take the retainer off which attaches the cable to the hood hold open rod bracket before guiding the cable between headlamp panel and Radiator before sending it over the battery tray and pushing its grommet through the bulkhead wall into the car interior. Prior to detachment disconnect the hood release handle from its cowl trim panel connection on the left side by removing the securing nut.
