  Your Hood Cable replacement work requires you to begin with the left front door sill panel removal followed by taking apart the left closeout/insulator panel and upper grille applique. Start by removing the engine splash shield then follow by taking off the Hood Latch. Before installation of the cable freeware attach mechanics wire to the Hood Latch assembly release cable's exterior end by releasing the cable from its position. Keep a mental note of the cable's path through the components. Take the retainer off which attaches the cable to the hood hold open rod bracket before guiding the cable between headlamp panel and Radiator before sending it over the battery tray and pushing its grommet through the bulkhead wall into the car interior. Prior to detachment disconnect the hood release handle from its cowl trim panel connection on the left side by removing the securing nut. After pulling the cable through the bulkhead the sound insulation should be open allowing you to detach the mechanics wire from the cable while keeping it in place for the installation process. Bring the cable out from the vehicle. You should hold the mechanics wire to the outside end of the new cable while using it to guide installation underneath vehicle insulation before passing the cable out through the bulkhead. After mounting the cable to the release handle position the cable grommet against the bulkhead. Fit the release handle back into the left side cowl panel while securing the retaining nut at 7 n.m (62 lb in). Tight torque. The cable needs to be directed as before across the battery tray between the headlamp panel and Radiator and must be secured to wheelhouse retainers and hood hold open rod brackets. Begin the installation sequence by attaching the cable to the Hood Latch assembly then the Hood Latch and engine splash shield before adding the upper grille applique and left closeout/insulator panel that ends with the left front door sill panel.
