  A: Start the cable replacement process by taking out the left front door sill panel then the left closeout/insulator panel and upper grille applique before removing the engine splash shield. Start by disassembling the Hood Latch then freeing the Hood Cable from the Hood Latch assembly. Connect mechanics wire to the outside cable end before taking note of the cable's path for future mounting. After releasing the cable retainer hook at the hood hold open rod bracket you can put the cable through the holes created by the headlamp panel and Radiator while routing it above the battery tray before pushing the cable grommet through the bulkhead into the interior of the vehicle. Begin installation by taking out the nut linking the hood release handle and the cowl trim panel at the left side then unhook the cable from the handle.
