The first step involves removing the engine splash shield followed by the bolts that connect the latch to its mounting bracket. After that, disconnect the Hood Latch cable before separating the latch from the vehicle. When installing the Hood Latch cable must first be joined to the latch before placing the latch at the marked bracket position. Secure the bolts which hold the latch into place and tighten them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Check the latch function when folding the hood while making sure the latch matches the position of the hood striker. If needed you should readjust its position. The last step involves replacing the engine splash shield.
