How to replace the hood latch on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

In order to change the hood latch, open the hood and indicate its position on the mounting bracket. Pop off the engine splash shield, the engine bolts and loosen the hood latch cable. Install new latch, attach the cable, and tighten the bolts. Checks on the functionality of the latch and replace the splash shield.
