How to replace the front Door Latch Assembly on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

Starting the front door latch replacement requires you to remove the door trim panel followed by the front water deflector. Begin by detaching the inside Door Handle from the door before taking off the clip which secures the outside Door Handle rod to the front Door Lock. First disconnect the outside lock rod alongside the inner lower lock rod before removing the front door latch screws to disconnect electrical connectors. Afterward you can pull out the latch by accessing it through the inner front door panel opening. After passing the latch through the front door inner panel access hole secure it by attaching the electrical connectors to the front Door Lock and tighten the screws to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Continue by connecting the outside handle rod clip and install the door latch lock rod externally before connecting the inner lower lock rod. Inspection of the proper Door Lock operation must be performed before reinstalling both the front door water deflector and the door trim panel.
