Chevrolet SSR Door Hinge Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front door hinge on Chevrolet SSR?
A: Begin the front door hinge replacement task by removing both tire and wheel followed by flushing out the front wheelhouse liner together with the front fender. Locate door hinge points on the door and hinge pillar and use support to secure the door. Begin by unscrewing both door hinge bolts fixed to the pillar and the door followed by unhitching the door hinge. Place the new door hinge where the marks show on the door before securing it with bolts that need to be tightened to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Secure the door hinge at the marked positions on the door pillar using bolts which require tightening to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Check the door alignment after the support removal process and adjust the position if misalignment occurs. Reinstallation should begin with placing the front fender back on and then attaching both the front wheelhouse liner and tire and wheel.
