Lower Hinge, Front

The first step to replace the front side Door Hinge includes dismounting the push-in fasteners that fasten the fender sound insulator to the front fender followed by removing the fender sound insulator. First label the hinge position on the body before you provide support to the door. Initiate removal of the hinge bolts which need to be taken from both door and body components. Install the hinge by aligning it with body marks from removal while you fasten the bolts to the body and tighten them to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Begin installing the hinge first to the door bolts then secure them tightly to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Reinstall the fender sound insulator once the door support has been taken off. The door latch operates correctly only when strikers are aligned properly; avoid using the Door Striker to position the door to the vehicle since improper adjustment causes damage to the door latch and striker. Finish by adjusting the door before applying body color paint to any damages on the hinge and bolts.
