Mark the hinge position on the body surface before removing the hinge to body bolts as well as hinge to door bolts. After marking the hinge pillar position during removal the hinge needs to be installed at these reference points. The bolts require tightening to 25 nm (18 lb ft) according to the installation instructions. The new hinge must be positioned according to the door layout before installing the bolts which should be tightened to 25 nm (18 lb ft). Take off the door support before adjusting the door while checking for correct striker alignment because wrong alignment can damage the door latch and striker system. The finishing step requires body color paint to cover any areas where paint has sustained damage on the hinge or bolts.
