2006 Chevrolet Uplander Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine flywheel on 2006 Chevrolet Uplander?
A: Starting the replacement of the engine Flywheel requires automatic transaxle removal. The Flywheel holder (J 37096) should be used to stabilize the Flywheel while keeping the crankshaft from turning. Start by loosing each of the six Flywheel bolts before removing all but the one situated at the top of the crankshaft position. After gripping the Flywheel users must remove the last bolt but must avoid letting the Flywheel fall away. After the engine Flywheel retainer removal and the Flywheel extraction, focus on cleaning both the threads inside the engine Flywheel bolt and the bolt holes. Place the Flywheel together with the Flywheel retainer before you secure the Flywheel with the Flywheel holder (J 37096). Screw and torque all engine Flywheel bolts to a final value of 71 nm (52 ft. Lbs.). Check the Flywheel runout using a dial indicator under an engine block. Three attaching bosses need inspection and the condition must be corrected if the Flywheel needs replacement. Finally, reinstall the automatic transaxle.
