How to Address Issues with the A/C Expansion Valve on 2006 GMC Canyon?

In order to change the thermal expansion valve (TXV), empty the refrigerant, then disassemble the TXV mounting nut, evaporator tube and compressor suction hose. Discard the old seal washers, bolts off TXV and install new seal washers. Reattach the evaporator tube and compressor suction hose and screw up the TXV nut. Last but not least evacuate and charge refrigerant system and leak test.
