How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2006 GMC Envoy?

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor has to be replaced by cutting off the engine and unscrewing the negative battery terminal. Drain the coolant and disconnect the ECT sensor and remove. Use thread sealer where necessary and use sensor carefully and with the appropriate part number. Install the ECT sensor, re-connect the electrical connector and refill the coolant.
