2007 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the front brake line on 2007 Buick LaCrosse?
A: To fix the front brake hose you need to lift and hold the vehicle before taking off the tire and wheel parts. To stop brake fluid loss and contamination during service you should place a rubber cap or plug on the brake pipe fitting end after cleaning all brake hose components. Hold the brake pipe through a second wrench while loosening the hose connection on the brake pipe. When finished secure the open pipe by adding the rubber cap instead of twisting the bracket. Pull out the brake hose from its bracket by removing the retaining clip at the mounting bracket. Separate the brake caliper bolt from the unit while taking out the brake hose from the caliper. Toss the copper gaskets that remain on the brake hardware or hose end. To install the hose place two new copper gaskets and the bolt on the brake hose end before attaching the brake hose bolt onto the brake caliper. Tighten the joint to 40 lb ft or 54 n.m. Place the brake hose into the bracket under vehicle weight while avoiding bends and making sure the stripe lines up with the bracket notch as installation guide. Attach the retainer to the hose fitting on the bracket and unscrew the rubber cap from the open brake pipe end to join the brake pipe and hose using a back up wrench without deforming the bracket or pipe. Tighten the connection to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Return the front tire and wheel parts while inspecting that the hose stays away from suspension parts at tough turns and requires removal to resolve contact issues. End the hydraulic brake cycle before lowering the vehicle.
