2007 Buick LaCrosse Coolant Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the coolant reservoir on 2007 Buick LaCrosse?
A: Begin replacement of the coolant recovery reservoir by unclipping the Coolant Reservoir hose clamp which secures the radiator overflow fitting. Then remove the Coolant Reservoir hose from that fitting. After disconnecting the electrical harness from the support retainer you should remove the Coolant Reservoir nuts from shock tower studs to extract the coolant recovery reservoir. Use a clean container to drain the coolant out of the recovery reservoir. Reinstallation of the coolant recovery reservoir requires mounting it onto the lower retainer and shock tower studs followed by nut installation on each stud before torquing them to 3.3 n.m (29 lb in). Install the reservoir hose using clean water but direct it toward the radiator overflow neck fitting. Position the hose end directly against the radiator filler neck while ensuring the clamp sits correctly between these points and the fitting's flared end. Place the Coolant Reservoir hose onto the radiator overflow fitting then reattach the Coolant Reservoir hose support retainer to its electrical harness while placing the fitting clamp on the reservoir hose. Complete the cooling system reservoir filling process at its designated mark.
