2007 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the TPMS Sensor on 2007 Buick LaCrosse?
A: To replace the Tire Pressure Sensor, lift the vehicle on a suitable support, and remove the tire/wheel assembly. It's recommended that prior to demounting the tire, the cap of the sensor and the valve is to be set down on a clean surface where the cap of the sensor is aluminum, its valve is nickel plated to avoid corrosion, and that the valve and cap are from the same manufacturer. When removing the tire bead from the wheel, position the bead breaking fixture 90 degrees toward the valve stem and place a tire iron, pry bar in, on tire bead releasing to the right of the sensor body then pry tire bead. To transfer the tire bead to the outside of the wheel rim in counter clockwise direction rotate the tire/wheel assembly with the help of tire machine and repeating the same process on the inner bead before extracting the tire from the wheel. In case there is any tire sealant, remove all the remaining liquid sealant from the tire and wheel surfaces. Then, you should dismiss the nut and the sensor of tire pressure. For installation, wash the dirt away on the grommet seal area, connect the sensor into the wheel hole with the passage for air directed away, and install the sensor nut while also orienting the sensor body parallel to the inside of the wheel, tightening it up to 7 N.m (62 lb in). While reinstalling the tire, align the mounting/dismounting head 180 degrees from the valve stem and the bead transition area 45 degrees counterclockwise of the valve stem and rotate the tire/wheel assembly clock-wise to move the tire bead to the inside of the wheel rim and repeat the same for the outer bead before reinstalling the tire on the wheel. Please note that a service replacement tire pressure sensor is shipped in OFF mode, which means that the sensor's internal roll switch should be opened by spinning the tire/wheel assembly faster than 32 km/h (20 mph) for at least 10 seconds. Last of all, mount the tire/wheel assembly onto the car, lower it, and learn about tire pressure sensors.
