How to replace the front drive shaft on 2007 Buick Rainier?

Lift the vehicle and remove the steering gear crossmember to replace the front propeller shaft. Before disconnecting the propeller shaft mark its relationship to the front axle pinion yoke. Tape the bearing caps and remove the shaft. When installed, align the reference marks and make sure proper engagement is achieved. Re-attach propeller shaft and refix steering gear crossmember.
