2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the engine oil and oil filter on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: Start engine oil and Oil Filter replacement by lifting up the vehicle and positioning a drain pan where the Oil Pan Drain Plug exists. Start by removing the Oil Pan Drain Plug after which you should let the engine oil empty fully. You must inspect the oil Drain Plug sealing surface after cleaning the area. If your Oil Pan shows signs of wear replace it; otherwise wipe the hole then secure the Drain Plug. Drop a drain pan beneath the Oil Filter and remove the filter while making sure the Oil Filter gasket stays on the old part. If the gasket remains on the adapter you should proceed but if not detach the gasket from the adapter. Apply clean engine oil to the new Oil Filter's gasket and place the new Oil Filter on the adapter before tightening it to 3/4 to 1 complete turn when the gasket contacts the adapter. After tightening the Oil Pan Drain Plug to 26 n.m (19 lb ft), remove the oil drain pan from beneath the vehicle while lowering it to the floor. Begin by adding new engine oil before starting the engine to check for oil leaks during this process. Shut down the engine then let the oil have time to flow back into the Oil Pan. After cleaning the indicator end of the oil level indicator tube use a top-quality cloth to reinstall the indicator until its handle hits the top of the tube. Check the indicator level by removing the oil sensor a second time while keeping its tip facing downward. Verify and correct the oil level by adding or draining oil before conducting leak tests.
