2007 Cadillac CTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve on 2007 Cadillac CTS?
A: The process requires the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) with other needed tools to replace the thermal expansion valve (TXV). Start by removing the i/p retainer before proceeding to take off the insulation from the txv. The hvac line clamp process starts with removing clamp screw and clamp. To begin replacement of the txv start by unboltting the device from Evaporator core using txv to Evaporator bolts and then detaching the txv line bracket before pulling the txv straight out from the a/c lines. Lubricate all o-rings before putting the a/c lines on the brand-new expansion valve. Push the txv onto the Evaporator core until full seating and then secure the txv line bracket. Securing the two txv to Evaporator bolts requires torque to reach 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). The hvmc line clamp requires reattachment using its specified screw while tightening it to 1 n.m torque (8 lb in). End the process by replacing insulation onto the lines and txv followed by i/p retainer reinstallation.
