How to replace the rear trunk latch on 2007 Cadillac CTS?

You must open the rear compartment to replace the rear compartment lid latch. Unfasten the rear compartment interior release handle from the rear compartment lid as well as the electrical connector to the latch mechanism. Detach the bolts that hold the lid latch assembly to the compartment and unfasten its replacement cables and latch. Fit the rear compartment lid latch to its opening on the rear compartment lid following all Fastener Notice instructions and tighten fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). Rejoin the electrical connector to the rear compartment lid latch and attach the handle and trim panel before closing the rear area.
