How to Service and Repair the Trunk Latch on Cadillac CTS?

You must open the rear compartment before removing the rear compartment lid trim panel. Unplug the rear compartment lid latch connections with the handle and electrical wires from the panel. Free the bolts that keep the rear compartment lid latch attached to the lid part before removing both assemblies for the release cables. Mount the rear compartment lid latch in position on the rear compartment lid and establish every fastener according to the assembly guidelines. Set the fasteners on the latch to 25 Nm (18 lb ft) and use them to secure it in place. Next attach the electrical connector and put back the interior release handle of the rear compartment lid. Put back the rear compartment lid trim panel and close the rear compartment as the last step.
