2007 Cadillac DTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2007 Cadillac DTS?
A: The first step to replace a condenser requires refrigerant recovery. Start the replacement process by taking out the front compartment sight shield together with the upper tie bar and hood latch support. Start by disconnecting the discharge hose nut and discharge hose from the condenser then proceed to remove the suction hose nut and suction hose. If your vehicle has engine oil cooler lines detach them (1, 2) from the radiator as well as the condenser lines to radiator mounting bolt and sealing washers. Unbolt the condenser and remove it from the radiator retainer while also taking it out of the vehicle. Add refrigerant oil to the new condenser before installation. Lay the condenser into position within the radiator retainer and fasten it with condenser mounting bolts that need tightening to 9 N.m (80 lb in). The old condenser mounting bracket should be used to install both components of the condenser line to radiator mounting bolt before tightening it to 6 N.m (53 lb in). Secure the engine oil cooler lines (1, 2) to the radiator by click connection and then fit the plastic cap onto the quick connect joint. After installing new sealing washers, attach the suction hose and its nut while tightening it to 16 N.m (12 lb ft). Place the liquid line along with its nut and tighten it to 20 N.m pressure (15 lb ft torque). Begin by reinstalling the hood latch bracket along with the upper tie bar before charging the A/C system and performing a leak check using Halogen Leak Detector (J 39400-A) before adding the front compartment sight shield.
