The replacement process for front door strikers requires the observer to check the striker placement and spacer count before unfastening bolts that hold the door striker in position. Remove the striker followed by the spacer during the next step. Check that the striker is properly aligned before installation so excessive door force or door system damage does not occur that might result in personal injuries. Avoid striking the striker using a hammer and never apply force for alignment. Position the spacer and striker on the lock pillar facing outward with the narrow part of the striker forward. Then install the striker fasteners . Secure the door striker by installing two fixations tightly at 27 N.m (20 lb ft).
