  • Q: How to replace the intake manifold on 2007 Cadillac DTS?
    A: To replace the Intake Manifold, start with removing the Fuel Injector sight shield cover and air cleaner outlet duct. Disconnect the following connectors on the engines harness, front ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector and front fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors , rear ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector and rear fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors . Next, pull apart the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) foul air tube quick connect fitting from the right camshaft cover and the pcv fresh air tube quick connect fitting from the camshaft cover. Remove the fuel feed line quick connect flare fitting on the Fuel Rail, relocate the radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe clamp to the surge tank, and remove surge tank inlet hose/pipe from both surge tank and engine fitting. Remove the two pushnuts attaching the surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the Fuel Rail studs, the engine harness retainer from the Fuel Rail stud, and the coolant heater cord tabs from the Fuel Rail studs if equipped. Take out the nut from the Fuel Rail bracket on the rear left lift bracket, fuel rail studs and the Fuel Rail itself. Loosen the plenum duct clamp screw at the water pump head, and then remove the Intake Manifold bolts and Intake Manifold. Free the pcv foul air tube quick connect fitting at the Intake Manifold and remove the pcv foul air tube from the retaining features of Intake Manifold. Remove the old seals, clean and check Intake Manifold. To install, install the new Intake Manifold seals then connect the pcv foil air tube quick connect fitting to the Intake Manifold, then install the pcv foul air tube to the retaining features. Grease the inside circumference of the rubber plenum duct of the water pump housing before the Intake Manifold is fitted and the Intake Manifold bolts are snugged. Slightly tighten the Intake Manifold bolts in the specified sequence to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and make sure the Intake Manifold is in full contact with the plenum duct on the water pump housing. Tighten the clasp screw of the plenum duct to 2.75 n.m (24 lb/in). Lubricate clean engine oil on the Fuel Injector lower o-ring seals and then fit the Fuel Rail and tighten the studs of the Fuel Rail to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Swing in the Fuel Rail bracket nut at the rear left lift bracket set them to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and install the coolant heater cord tabs to the fuel study bracket if equipped. Reattach the engine harness retainer to the Fuel Rail stud and attach surge tank inlet hose/pipe to the Fuel Rail studs then lock in place using the 2 pushnuts. Connect the surge tank inlet hose / pipe to the engine fitting with the radiator surge tank inlet hose/pipe clamp at the engine; then, connect the surge tank inlet hose/pipe with the surge tank, repositioning the clamp with the surge tank. Install the fuel feed line quick connect fitting at pressure rail, the pcv fresh air tube quick connect fitting at camshaft cover, and the pcv foil air tube quick connect fitting at the right close. Lastly, reconnect the rear fuel injectors engine harness electrical connector , rear ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector , front fuel injectors engine harness electrical connectors , and the front ignition coil module engine harness electrical connector , reinstall air cleaner outlet duct, and Fuel Injector sight shield cover.
