How to replace the rear axle shaft on a 9.5 HD Axle on 2007 Cadillac Escalade?

Cars need to be elevated for replacing rear axle shafts of 9.5 hd axles where mechanics must first uninstall wheels and tires before taking off Brake Calipers. Begin by removing first the rear cover along with its gasket followed by the pinion shaft locking bolt. The complete pinion shaft removal process should start by removing the shaft (locking Differential removal is necessary unless the axle has no locking Differential feature). Employ a screwdriver or another appropriate device to rotate the lock to reach the position that lines up with the thrust block. The c-lock needs to be taken off from the button end of the Axle Shaft as you push the shaft flange toward the Differential. The proper removal of the Axle Shaft depends on keeping it from rotating because any misalignment between the gears will create difficulties during reassembly. Insert the new Axle Shaft to the rear axle housing by sliding it in after you remove the Axle Shaft from its housing while confirming that the splines enter the Differential side gear. The lock should be activated on the button end of axle shafts that do not have Differential locking systems. Axles with locking differentials need users to maintain a partial extension of the pinion shaft followed by c-lock placement on the Axle Shaft until the lock ends match the thrust block. Expand the shaft flange before the lock slips into position on the Differential gear. Position the pinion shaft hole with the Differential case bolt opening during this operation. Secure the new pinion shaft locking bolt at 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Replace the rear cover along with its gasket while reattaching the brake caliper and the tire and wheel unit. After installing the desired fluid complete the procedure by lowering the vehicle.
