2007 Cadillac Escalade Lash Adjuster Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the Lash Adjuster in the RPO L92 - First Design on 2007 Cadillac Escalade?
A: The first step to repair the lash adjusters (209, 219) in the rpo l92 - first design involves removing the Cylinder Head and gasket then the Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211). Remove the Lash Adjuster guides (210) together with their adjusters while keeping track of their previous order because the guide notches should face the engine block locating tabs. Strip the lash adjusters from their guide before cleaning them for inspection when needed. To reinstall the adjusters replace them in their original positions so that each four-valve guide assembly contains two both active fuel management adjusters and two both non-active fuel management adjusters. Put clean engine oil on lash adjusters and guide bore surfaces before placing each adjuster into its guide. Accomplish this step by having flat areas on active and non-active fuel management adjusters match adjuster guide bore flat areas and by lining up the notch in the guide with the raised area on the active fuel management adjuster. Screw in the lash adjusters and guide (210) onto the engine block using the Lash Adjuster guide bolts (211) set to 12 n.m (106 lb in) torque, and afterward put back the Cylinder Head with its gasket.
