How to replace the Differential Carrier Assembly on 2007 Cadillac SRX?

To be able to replace the Differential carrier assembly, start by collecting the necessary tools. These would include: j 44394 seal protector. Raising and support the vehicle must be done first, after which the front frame assembly should be lowered. Once the front propeller shaft is loose from the Differential, it can be moved to the side, right and left front wheel drive shafts should be removed as well. Next, remove the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft support bearing and place a transmission jack under the Differential to support it properly and firmly. Loose the front Differential to Oil Pan mounting bolts and remove the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft and front Differential from Oil Pan. Position for installation the Differential on the transmission jack and fix it once more. After the Differential is secured, install the middle wheel Drive Shaft and front Differential to the Oil Pan, install and fasten the front Differential to Oil Pan mounting bolts in sequence to 110 n.m (81 lb ft). With the removal of the transmission jack, install the intermediate wheel Drive Shaft support bearing to the left and right front wheel drive shafts, and finally the front propeller shaft to the Differential. Check the Differential lubricant level, front frame assembly, and loop the vehicle down.
