  A: Begin the replacement of left side Catalytic Converter (LY7) by disassembling the left bank exhaust manifold heat shield and Catalytic Converter nuts. Climb the vehicle and suspend it using supports before untethering the muffler pipe and Oxygen Sensor electrical connector from both left and right catalytic converters. You should remove the fasteners from the right bank Exhaust Pipe before you carefully extract the Catalytic Converter unit with its seal/heat shield and Oxygen Sensor from the exhaust manifold. Move on to removing the Oxygen Sensor that is installed on the Catalytic Converter. Before attaching the Oxygen Sensor to the Catalytic Converter make sure to check the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield sealing surface for damage and replace it if necessary. Follow these steps to install the Catalytic Converter seal/heat shield to the Catalytic Converter: position the Catalytic Converter back onto the exhaust manifold while tightly securing it with Catalytic Converter nuts. Connect the Oxygen Sensor electrical connector while joining both catalytic converters to the muffler pipes using muffler nuts that need to be tightened to 22 n.m (16 lb ft).
