  A: Transformation of the right Exhaust Manifold begins by taking out the powertrain and catalytic converter pipe bolt located at the bell housing. You must disconnect the Oxygen Sensor after removing the connector position assurance lock and electrical connectors 1 and 2 then extracting the sensors. The next step involves removing right Exhaust Manifold heat shield bolts while simultaneously taking away the heat shield. First detach the Exhaust Manifold bolts and nuts before taking away the Exhaust Manifold together with the old gasket that needs disposal. The threads inside the Cylinder Head Exhaust Manifold bolt holes need to be clean prior to installing the new Exhaust Manifold. Start by tightening the center two nuts of the Exhaust Manifold before alternating between left and right side until you reach 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The right Exhaust Manifold heat shield accompanies two bolts which require tightening to 10 n.m (89 lb in) while the Exhaust Manifold and catalytic converter bolt need tightening to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Apply gm p/n 12377953 anti-seize compound to all Oxygen Sensor threads before installing sensors and torquing them to 42 n.m (30 lb ft). After completing the Oxygen Sensor electrical connector installation and cpa lock installation and powertrain reinstallation the process can be finished.
