2007 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the oil pan on 2007 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: Order them in the following order: right first wheel off, also the right splash shield off. Drain out the engine oil from the crankcase and remove the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), disconnecting it. Remove the lower flange nuts from the Exhaust Manifold and the bolts on the bracket, along with nuts on the brackets holding the front pipe. Remove the Catalytic Converter with the Exhaust Pipe as an assembly and the bolt between the Oil Pan and the transaxle housing, as well as the bolt between the transaxle housing and the Oil Pan. Remove the grommet and the Oil Pan retaining bolts, then remove the Oil Pan from the engine block as well as from the gasket on the Oil Pan. For installing, apply the liquid gasket on the gasket, then place the gasket on to the Oil Pan and install it on the engine block within 5 minutes. Install Oil Pan retaining bolts and put them on 10 n.m (89 lb in). Throw away the used Oil Pan drain plug washer and install a new one and fit the grommet. Make sure the transaxle housing is fixed to the Oil Pan with the help of a bolt that is tightened 25 n.m to 18 lb ft followed by the bolt that fasten Oil Pan to the transaxle housing, the latter being pulled to 25 n m to 18 lb ft tightness. Replace the catalytic converters and Exhaust Pipe as one unit, mating the Catalytic Converter nut to Exhaust Manifold with 50 n.m (37 lb ft), the Exhaust Pipe bracket bolts at 50 n.m (37 lb ft), and the front muffler nuts at 130 n.m (22 lb ft). Connect the ho2s, re-install the right front splash shield and wheel, reconnect the negative Battery Cable and fill the engine crankcase with engine oil.
