How to service and repair the clutch disc on 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt?

Starting any clutch maintenance requires complete transmission disassembly. First tighten each clutch cover bolt only one step to release the spring tension then remove both the clutch cover and the Clutch Disc. The clutch alignment arbor (J43482) supports the clutch cover to the Flywheel assembly by aligning the covered machine side with the machined Flywheel assembly side. Follow the specific tightening sequence when installing clutch cover to Flywheel bolts while tightening them to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Take out the clutch alignment arbor (J43482) after completion. The splines on the input shaft require minimal lubrication because extra lubricant could dirty the Clutch Disc leading to clutch shudder. Use saturn p/n 21005995 or its equivalent lubricant product to coat the bearing's internal diameter. After transmission reinstallation complete hydraulic system bleeding before connecting the negative Battery Cable.
