    Q:
How to replace the clutch disc and pressure plate on Chevrolet Cobalt? Posted by Customer
    A:
The transmission requires removal before starting the clutch pressure and clutch disc replacement process. The clutch cover bolts must be taken off slowly until the spring pressure stops then the clutch cover and clutch disc can be removed. The machined surface of the Flywheel assembly should match the machined surface of the cover before installing the clutch alignment arbor (J 43482) for clutch cover support. Tighten clutch cover to Flywheel bolts according to their sequential order at 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Discard the clutch alignment arbor (J 43482) from the next step. The application of too much lubricant on input shaft splines should be avoided since it could pollute the clutch disc and trigger clutch shudder. The inside diameter of the bearing should receive application of saturn p/n 21005995 or equivalent lubricant. Installation of the transmission should be followed by hydraulic system bleeding then attachment of the negative Battery Cable.

    Q:
How to service and repair the clutch disc for the M86/M94 Getrag transmission on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Starting the Clutch Disc service and repair process requires first removing the m86/m94 getrag transmission from the vehicle. Start by rotating clutch cover bolts individually until spring pressure reduces and afterward remove the cover and Clutch Disc. Mount the clutch alignment arbor (J 43482) so the clutch cover's light side rests on the heavy side of the Flywheel assembly. Secure the clutch cover to Flywheel bolts according to specified torque 24 n.m (18 lb ft) while following the tightening sequence before taking out the clutch alignment arbor (J 43482). Do not over-lubricate the input shaft splines since this practice can cause Clutch Disc contamination leading to clutch shudder. Apply saturn p/n 21005995 lubricant solution to the bearing's inner diameter or use an equivalent product. You must reinstall the transmission but afterward you need to bleed the hydraulic system before connecting the negative Battery Cable.

    Q:
How to service and repair the clutch disc on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
To service and repair the Clutch Disc, set the transmission out by removing it. Next, remove the clutch cover bolts one turn at a time until the spring will press, after this take off the clutch cover and the Clutch Disc. Align the heavy side of the Flywheel assembly with the light side of clutch cover during installation. Mount the clutch cover to the Flywheel assembly, supported by the clutch alignment arbor (J 43482). Mountaneous the clutch cover to Flywheel bolts with the indicated sequence; torque it to 24 n.m (18 lb ft). Then, de-install the clutch alignment arbor (J 43482). Excessive lubricant on the input shaft splines should also be avoided, as it should not contaminate the Clutch Disc, causing clutch shudder. Lubricate inside diameter of the bearing with saturn p/n 21005995 or an equivalent product. Finally, install transmission and bleed hydraulic system and attach the negative cable from the battery.
