Before changing the Camshaft Position Sensor users need to detach the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Proceed to take out the cmp sensor from the Cylinder Head after removing its retaining bolt while discarding the o-ring seal. The installation process starts with applying new o-ring seal to the cmp sensor which requires engine oil lubrication before sensor placement into the Cylinder Head. Secure the cmp sensor bolt with a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in) after proper installation. As a concluding step install the engine wiring harness electrical connector back onto the cmp sensor.
