2008 Chevrolet Colorado Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2008 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: You must disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor to replace it. Start by removing the cmp sensor retaining bolt so you can pull out the cmp sensor from the Cylinder Head while disposing of the o-ring seal. New o-ring seal installation begins with placement and a light application of clean engine oil onto the cmp sensor. Then, install the cmp sensor into the Cylinder Head. Tighten the cmp sensor bolt to 10 n.m (89 lb in) of torque. Reconnect the engine wiring harness' electrical connector to the cmp sensor.
