2006 Chevrolet Colorado Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Camshaft Position Sensor on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: The engine wiring harness electrical connector separating from the cmp sensor is the first step before cmp sensor replacement. The first step is to unscrew the cmp sensor retaining bolt while removing the cmp sensor from the Cylinder Head except for the o-ring seal which needs to be discarded. After placing a new o-ring seal on the cmp sensor you must apply a thin coat of clean engine oil before putting the sensor into the Cylinder Head. Secure the cmp sensor with the retaining bolt through tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in). After that, reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the cmp sensor.
